How do Ductless Mini-Splits Work?

As we said above, ductless mini-splits don't have ducts and consist of an outdoor condenser connected to one or more indoor air handler units via refrigerant lines. Here's how they work:

1. The air handler removes heat from inside your home and transfers it to the condenser. 
2. Using refrigerant, the condenser eliminates the heat so that only cold is left. 
3. The now super-chilled refrigerant travels through the line back into the air handlers and cycles through the internal coils. 
4. The internal fan sucks air out of your home, passes it over the super-chilled coils, and blows it back into your home. 
5. This process repeats until the desired temperature is reached inside your home.
   

Although it sounds complicated, this process begins within seconds of turning on your ductless mini-split system. As such, it provides cold air quickly, efficiently, and steadily.
